I found the coolest site for landing page testing (AB testing)
If you have ever created or currently create landing pages, you’ve most likely done a little work in AB or split testing. If not, you should be. If you aren’t familiar with AB testing, it’s basically the creation of 2 landing pages with a collection of differences between the two.
To test effectively, you create a goal for the test and change the designs accordingly. You then release the two landing pages and see which of the two performed closest to the goal.
I was surfing this morning and found an excellent resource on AB testing.
The site is called ABtests.com. It’s a pretty straightforward collection of AB tests from various sites and campaigns on the web. You can browse the collection to see what kinds of goals were tested and how well the tests achieved those goals.
These collections provide invaluable insight for anybody who is tasked with creating landing pages for any type of campaign.
While each test is in context to each specific campaign, you essentially get a little pre-test look at what may or may not work for your campaign. It can be argued that there is a formula for creating a landing page, which I’ll get to in a later post, but these results give you a few ingredients to add to your list.
I think the best thing about this site is that each test result provides a percentage of change in the conversion rate as well as a description of why the campaign creator felt the rate had changed.
If you take a look at the site, make sure to read through the comments on each campaign. There are quite a few good insights in the comments regarding the results.
On a semi-related note, I am re-releasing a WordPress plugin for creating landing pages. The plugin will give you the ability to choose from different themes, add your own form and even create and distribute your own custom themes.
If you use WordPress and have a need for landing pages, you’ll definitely want to check this plugin out.
Subscribe to my feed via email using the form under “Free Newsletter Updates” to the right or via RSS at this link – http://feeds.feedburner.com/Socialeers. I’ll send you updates from the blog and let you know when the plugin is done and ready. Maybe I’ll even give you the plugin and landing page themes for free To know, you’ll have to subscribe.
So go check out ABtests.com and let me know what you think by commenting.
Tweet this post so ABtests gets some good attention.Tweet
